1. Phool Dei

The Festival of Flowers. Children place fresh flowers on doorsteps, symbolizing spring and the bond between the new generation and nature.

July (Monsoon)

2. Harela

Literally 'Green Day'. Celebrated during monsoon to mark the beginning of sowing season and prayer for a bountiful harvest.

3. Ghee Sankranti

Also known as Olgiya, celebrating the abundance of dairy. Consuming ghee on this day highlights traditional nutrition and pastoral heritage.

November (Diwali + 11)

4. Igas-Bagwal

Unique Himalayan tradition celebrated 11 days after Diwali. Marked by lighting 'Bhailo' (torches) and community folk dances.

January (Makar Sankranti)

5. Ghughutiya

Welcoming migratory birds. Children offer handmade sweets ('Ghughute') to crows, fostering a love for fauna.
